This design is based off the classic Japanese Tokusa design.  Modern, graphic, yet classic.  Food looks great on this pattern.

We use rectangular plates all the time, perfect for serving sushi, but also think about long stalks of asparagus or strips of bacon, beautiful slices of fruit for sharing.  But we also use them for organizing around the kitchen and home - they make small beautiful trays for imagine spices and a olive oil bottle.
