A classic since 1948, uni Mitsubishi has been manufacturing the 9800 B pencil.  The HB pencil lead is a bit HARDER than the HB lead.  Some people prefer the HB for writing and drawing.  We also like the details of these pencils - the  dark green glossy barrel with gold foil details “ESTABLISHED 1887  * MATURED “MITSU-BISHI” 9800 white stamping of “GENERAL WRITING”.
