Kate Williamson is the designer, creator and owner of This Night grew up in Reading, PA, where there was one a vibrant hosiery industry. After returning from living in Japan for a year (Kate is also an artist and a writer - really what can't she do?) She worked with talented people from a local mill to create her perfect sock, as Kate describes"
one knit with US-grown ringspun cotton with touch of lycra for a cozy fit, a band that is comfortable yet still stays up, flat toe seams, and interesting designs in elegant colors". She was inspired by the " oshare" fashionable socks in Japan and thought she should introduce them to the US too.
Even her brand has terrific thoughtful meaning, inspired by one of Japan's most famous authors and books.
If only I could show them to someone who knows,
this moon, these flowers, this night that should not be wasted.
– Minamoto Nobuakira, Gosenshu

This night, these socks, each moment kicking around, walking around, curled up on our couch, should not be wasted. We love the sentiment!!
